Ryanair is one of the cheapest European airlines so the flights are good value. All of the flights are in the morning, so it´s very easy to find public transport at both airports.

Newcastle Airport lies 11km north-west of the city centre. It has a direct rail connection which reaches the city centre in just over 20 minutes.

Negatives

The Ryanair flight to Newcastle is very early, leaving at 8.15 in the morning. Ryanair has a low luggage allowance and charges high rates for extra luggage, so try to travel light. You can also fly to Newcastle with Thomsonfly, but the flights are expensive and the service is very limited, offering one weekly flight which are often very early or very late.

You can also fly to Newcastle from Barcelona Airport with easyjet, a very good budget airline with daily flights each way, so this might be a more attractive option.
