Bus service from Girona airport to Barcelona. This buses depart form Girona airport to Barcelona North Bus Station (Estación de Autobuses Nord).

The bus is the easiest and cheapest way to travel between Girona airport and Barcelona city centre. The company is not owned by Ryanair, but its timetables are tailored the coincide with the arrivals and departures of Ryanair flights.

The bus goes directly from the airport to Barcelona Estacio Nord, Barcelona´s main bus station. Journey time is approximately 1 hour 10 minutes. It´s five minutes walk from the metro stop Arc de Triomf (red line 1).

A single ticket costs 12 Euros, and a return is 21 Euros. It´s not possible to buy your tickets in advance.

All departures from Girona Airport (GRO) arrive at Barcelona Estació del Nord. Estació del Nord is at 80, Calle Alí Bei, and the nearest metro station is Arc de Trionf on L1.

Girona Airport official name is Girona Costa-Brava airport, but it is also known as Barcelona Girona Airport (GRO) and Gerona Airport (Spanish spelling).

Make sure you get the right bus! Barcelona Bus runs two routes, one to and from Girona airport and one to and from Girona city centre. 

WARNING!! Buses from Girona airport to Barcelona are operating on December 24th, 26th, 31st and January 1st. The service is reduced but at least one per flight. On December 25 there are no busses, so you will need to go to Girona train station then go to Barcelona by train, or pick up a transfer service!!

There are two other options to get to Barcelona from Girona airport: if you want to get by car or by taxi.

From Girona Airport to Barcelona by car

Driving from Girona Airport into Barcelona shouldn´t take longer than 1 hour 20 mins, and isn´t a complicated journey. The distance is about 100km along the AP7 motorway. The AP7 is a toll motorway so you´ll have to pay at some toll gates along the way. A motorway toll in Spanish is peaje, and in Catalan is ´peatge´. The easiest one is the ´manual´ gate, where you pay by cash. The other gates are for credit cards, but some are not accepted. The next toll coming up will require you to take a ticket. Keep this ticket to show to the attendant at the next toll booth.

From Girona city centre, take the AP7 heading to Barcelona. You´ll pass by the town of Granollers and will have to pay 5.40 Euros. When you get to Barcelona, take the C-33. You´ll have to pay 1.25 at Moll, after which you should follow the signs towards Ronda Litoral, Barcelona´s ringroad. From here follow directions to the city centre.
